A little more background on us. I'm from Pleasant Grove, UT. I graduated from Brigham Young University with my bachelor's in business management and worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car for 3 years. By the time I "retired" to become a stay-at-home mom in December 2012 I was a branch manager at their largest location in Utah County.
Trevor is a computer wizard. He is currently working on his bachelors in Information Technology at Brigham Young University and has one year left until he graduates. He's a wonderful father and definitely likes to think outside the box. In the pic, little Gideon is less than a month old and fast asleep as he's about to get eaten by the ancient crocodile in BYU's Museum of Paleontology (it's free!). This summer, he's been hired on as an intern for Amazon.com. We've moved up to Seattle, WA (just got here 2 days ago in fact).
Gideon is a well traveled little fellow. We had a funeral down in Tucson, AZ last Monday for Trevor's grandfather, "Tata" Juan Manuel Duran, then drove back to UT Tuesday and drove to Seattle Friday and Saturday. We were in 6 states in 5 days and he overall took it very well. In the last week, he's started rolling over, which is fun to see. He's grabbing on to anything within reach and trying to taste most anything. Fortunately, he doesn't have very good hand-eye coordination yet so he tends to miss his mouth.
Funny story: so on our way up to Seattle, we stayed in a hotel in Caldwell, ID. (Sidenote, the Best Western there is AWESOME and if you book on bestwestern.com you can get FABULOUS rates). Anyway, we played in the pool with Gideon and after we'd played for a while, I was holding him and I kissed his cheek. He turned his head and to my surprise started licking my face. Pretty soon, we noticed he would lick anything that came close to his mouth. He must have liked the taste of the chlorinated water! We got out pretty soon after that, but despite showering off, he spent the rest of the night trying to lick us.

I'm excited to read about your adventures for the next month or so. :) Maybe after I leave, Mom can include your posts as updates/letters, so I can have your perspective and stories, too! Would you be okay if I asked Mom about that?
ReplyDeleteYep that's just fine.
